MW2: Frozen Crossing…

Posted in Adaptation, Movies, Short Films, Video Games on April 8, 2010 by Matt

For now, this is as close as we’ll get to seeing a live action Modern Warfare movie.  And it’s probably best, as Hollywood will end up butchering it.  The movie draws upon some similarities from the game: the snow level, and Ghost and Roach (called Dust and Spectre in the short movie, because of “security concerns”).  It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to make something as high quality and awesome as this movie.  I’m excited because they have the second chapter filmed already, they just have to go through the post-production process.  Oh, and one last thing…they made this movie for approximately $209.42.

The Zombie Invasion is Here (Again)…

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I first started this blog.  Since my first post was for Left 4 Dead, I thought I would dedicate this post for the sequel Left 4 Dead 2, which arrives in stores tomorrow (11/17).   Following a different set of survivors (Coach – a high-school football coach, Rochelle – a news reporter, Ellis – a mechanic, and Nick – a gambling conman), the story takes place a week after the events in the first game, but this time the setting is in the South.  The story’s main protagonists will make there way from Savannah, Georgia all the way to New Orleans, Louisiana, but on the way they will have to fight for their lives, battling hordes of infected.  Some new additions to the game include: more realistic damage done to the infected, new infected characters (hazmat suits, infected dressed in riot gear, Chargers, and Spitters), as well as new weapons (silenced submachine gun, chrome and combat shotgun, sniper rifle, combat rifle, AK-47, grenade launcher, magnum sidearm, bile bomb, a wide variety of melee weapons, and many more).  And after watching the cinematic trailer for the new game, I have to say that I’m pumped as hell and looking forward to participating in the zombie invasion.  Check out the movie below, as well as posters for each of the game’s chapters.  Enjoy!

Assassing’s Creed II (Ubisoft)…

Assassin's Creed 2Incredible, simply incredible.  Looks like they’re going to do everything they did with the first game, and add on a few neat tricks.  Hopefully they’ll add some variety to the side missions to the point where it won’t be too repetitive.  Check out the trailer below.

Star Wars: The Old Republic (LucasArts)…

Posted in Movies, Video Games on June 2, 2009 by Matt

The prequel movies kind of ruined my feelings for Star Wars, but judging from this video game trailer, shown recently at E3, it gives me a new hope (no pun intended) for the franchise.  I just wish that the prequel movies were similar to what was shown in the trailer.  I played ‘Knights of the Old Republic’, which I think is an amazing game, but unfotunately the newest game is going to be online…which means it will most likely be for the PC…which means you’ll have to dish out monthly fees (like World of Warcraft).  Games like World of Warcraft is what’s turning me off to video games, I feel that if you’re paying more that $59.99 (which I already think is overkill for a video game, especially if you’re paying for Xbox Live), you SHOULD NOT have to pay any more money.  But anyways, I’m trailing off of my main point…Star Wars: The Old Republic, and I apologize. Check out the trailer below, it’s pretty…pretty…pretty…pretty good, pretty good.

Dante’s Inferno (EA Games)…

Dante's Inferno

**Video Game News**  Here are two trailers for the upcoming game Dante’s Inferno.  I have to say that the atmosphere in both of these games are incredibly eerie, almost like watching Francis Ford Copola’s film adaptation of Dracula.  Could this game be the next God of War?  We shall see when game play videos are released in the near future.  The game is due to be released sometime in 2010 and will be available for XBox 360, PS3, and PSP.

8-Bit Watchmen Game…

Posted in Movies, Superheroes, Video Games on February 12, 2009 by Matt

Here’s an 8-Bit Watchmen game ‘released’ by the Veidt Corporation.  It’s a side-scroller reminiscent to any beat ’em up game (e.g. Double Dragon).  I have to say that this game is some pretty cool marketing for the upcoming movie.
