The Zombie Invasion is Here (Again)…

Posted in Horror, Movie Clips, Posters, Video Games on November 16, 2009 by Matt

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I first started this blog.  Since my first post was for Left 4 Dead, I thought I would dedicate this post for the sequel Left 4 Dead 2, which arrives in stores tomorrow (11/17).   Following a different set of survivors (Coach – a high-school football coach, Rochelle – a news reporter, Ellis – a mechanic, and Nick – a gambling conman), the story takes place a week after the events in the first game, but this time the setting is in the South.  The story’s main protagonists will make there way from Savannah, Georgia all the way to New Orleans, Louisiana, but on the way they will have to fight for their lives, battling hordes of infected.  Some new additions to the game include: more realistic damage done to the infected, new infected characters (hazmat suits, infected dressed in riot gear, Chargers, and Spitters), as well as new weapons (silenced submachine gun, chrome and combat shotgun, sniper rifle, combat rifle, AK-47, grenade launcher, magnum sidearm, bile bomb, a wide variety of melee weapons, and many more).  And after watching the cinematic trailer for the new game, I have to say that I’m pumped as hell and looking forward to participating in the zombie invasion.  Check out the movie below, as well as posters for each of the game’s chapters.  Enjoy!

Ong Bak 2 (Fight)…

So I was looking up Tony Jaa fights on YouTube and I see that the full movie has been posted up on the site.  And I says to myself, “Well, I’m probably not going to watch this movie in its entirety, since the last two movie seriously lacked in plot.”  So I decided to click through the different parts and watch all of the different fight scenes.  When I got to part 8, I was wowed as to how many peoples lives he destroys in the span of 8 minutes and 19 seconds (I mean no surprise, if you’ve seen some of his fight scenes from the other movies).  If you want to see Tony Jaa kill everyone, then watch the video down below (just beware that this scene is toward the end of the movie)

[UPDATE]

Just as a I predicted, the full movie has been taken down.  Here’s another fight scene from the movie, just for you.

Check out the trailer for the upcoming Peter Jackson film, which was released Tuesday evening.  The Lovely Bones is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Alice Sebold, which tells the story of Susie Salmon who, after being murdered, observes her friends and family as they try to cope with their loss and try to recover from the tragedy.  Heaven, as depicted in the movie, is visually stunning, courtesy of Jackson’s Weta Digital.  The film stars Saoirse Ronan, Mark Whalberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci and is set to release on December 11, 2009.  Check out the trailer down below.

Tron Legacy VFX Concept Test…

Last year at the San Diego Comic-Con, they showed off a scene of test for the sequel formerly known as TR2N and online you could only watch a bootleg version of it.  It wasn’t until a year later, today, where they finally released a high quality video of what the test footage entails.  Looks like Tron Legacy just got bumped up to the top of my list of movies to see in 2010.  I included a clip from the 1982 movie, as well as the VFX concept test video.

District 9 (Trailer(s))…

I first heard of District 9 when I stumbled across a fictional wesbsite (http://www.d-9.com) that dealt with humans and aliens living together on Earth.  I furiously searched the web to try and find out what the hell the website was.  It wasn’t until last week when the first trailer for the movie appeared all over.  After finally seing what the movie was all about it sounded like a very interesting concept, especially seeing an interrogation of a ‘Non-Human’ at the end of te trailer.  After seeing the trailer with the ‘Non-Human’s’ face unblurred and subtitles added to its dialogue, it looks like it may actully be a pretty cool movie. Directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson, the film is scheduled to be released August 14th.  Check out both versions of the trailer below.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Clip + Montage)…

Michael Bay recently presented a clip, plus a montage, of the new Transformers movie at ShoWest.  Although the clip bugs me just a tiny bit (in the sense that it shows Sam’s guardian, Bumblebee, crying with windshiled wiper fluid), the montage that follows is, in Michael Bay’s words, ‘AWESOME’.  The montage also shows some of the new Transformers to be featured in the film.  You can view the ShoWest clip below:

Moon (Trailer)…

Here is the trailer to Moon, which first premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival.  The movie stars Sam Rockwell as Lunar employee, Sam Bell.  With two weeks left on his three year contract with the company, Sam discovers someone outside of the lunar base.  It is then revealed that the mysterious person looks exactly like him.  The real confusion starts when Gertie (voiced by Kevin Spacey), the robot that operates within the base, begins to question Sam’s sanity.  Are all of the things Sam sees real or are they a part of his ‘cabin fever’?  This movie looks like a top notch sci-fi movie and I definitely can’t wait to check it out June 12, if it’s released near me (it’s going to have a limited release).
