Here’s a teaser for the upcoming Ryan Reynolds movie ‘Buried’.  From the teaser, it seems that the main character, Paul Conroy, is a civilian truck driver who is captured in buried somewhere in Iraq.  All that he is left with is a candle, a knife, and a cell phone (which conveniently has video capabilities).  Not too much is known about the movie: a) Will it focus on just Reynolds stuck in a box for the duration of the film? b) Will it feature other characters as they race get a hold of the money? c) Will we see who the captors are?  Moviegoers attending the Sundance Film Festival will be able to check out this thriller starting on the 23rd of this month.  The rest of us will have to wait, hopefully, for a limited release.  Check out the teaser trailer below.

Inception (Trailer)…

Check out what looks like a mindtrip of a movie.  Inception is Christopher Nolan’s next movie, before (hopefully the rumors are true) he gears up for the third Batman movie.  The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Ken Watanabe and is scheduled to be released July 16, 2010.

My apologies, looks like Warner Bros. has taken the teaser trailer down.  Stay tuned, I will try and find another link soon.

Here you go, it doesn’t make sense for Warner Bros. to take down the video on YouTube, only to allow people to post it back on a couple of hours later.  What a bunch a stupids they are…

The Pacific…

Posted in Movie Trailers, Movies, Television, TV Episodes on June 22, 2009 by Matt

Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg present The Pacific, a miniseries on HBO focusing on American soldiers and the war against the Empire of Japan.  From what I’ve seen in the preview (below), it will be told in a similar fashion as Band of Brothers and focus on the lives of certain U.S. soldiers.

Every year, I get in this mood to watch Saving Private Ryan (which I watched the other day).  And after I do that, I usually watch Band of Brothers (which I’m probably going to start doing in the next day or so), so I was extremely excited to watch the preview today, because a friend of mine was telling me about it and I actually never heard that they were making this miniseries.  The Pacific which stars Joseph Mazzello (Jurassic Park — that’s right, the kid), James Badge Dale (24), and Jon Seda; and is expected to premier March 2010 and will consist of 10 (one-hour) episodes.

“Shoot him again, his soul is still dancing”…

I completely forgot that a sequel to Bad Lieutenant (1992) was in the works, until a friend of mine was telling me how crazy and tripped out the trailer is.  The sequel, directed by Werner Herzog (Nosferatu the Vampyre), stars Nicolas Cage as a crooked, drugged up cop and his investigation in the murders of five Senegalese immigrants.  I feel that this movie is either: (a) going to be a fairly decent crime movie — or — (b) another hilariously/awesomely/bad Nicolas Cage movie.

The film is to be released December, 2009, co-starring Val Kilmer, Eva Mendes, and Xzibit.

The Road…

YES!  I’ve been waiting for the trailer to the film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s book for a long time now.  I’m very much looking forward to seeing this movie, directed byJohn Hillcoat (The Proposition). I love that they’re keeping it real to the book and calling Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhees characters, respectively,  ‘The Man’ and’The Boy’.  I’m also looking forward to hearing Nick Cave’s score to the movie and how he depicts “the end of civilization”.  He has also composed the score to movies such as: The Proposition and The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford.
