MW2: Frozen Crossing…

Posted in Adaptation, Movies, Short Films, Video Games on April 8, 2010 by Matt

For now, this is as close as we’ll get to seeing a live action Modern Warfare movie.  And it’s probably best, as Hollywood will end up butchering it.  The movie draws upon some similarities from the game: the snow level, and Ghost and Roach (called Dust and Spectre in the short movie, because of “security concerns”).  It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to make something as high quality and awesome as this movie.  I’m excited because they have the second chapter filmed already, they just have to go through the post-production process.  Oh, and one last thing…they made this movie for approximately $209.42.

Check out the trailer for the upcoming Peter Jackson film, which was released Tuesday evening.  The Lovely Bones is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Alice Sebold, which tells the story of Susie Salmon who, after being murdered, observes her friends and family as they try to cope with their loss and try to recover from the tragedy.  Heaven, as depicted in the movie, is visually stunning, courtesy of Jackson’s Weta Digital.  The film stars Saoirse Ronan, Mark Whalberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci and is set to release on December 11, 2009.  Check out the trailer down below.
